We need the Audio police (Pnoom and Liam) to investigate.

Bump for Tomboy discussion

How do you guys like it so far? I need to give it more listens, but I'm really digging the sort of hymn-like style of singing right now.

i really like it a lot. not disappointed int he least. only listened once though. a higher quality verion will be great though. cant wait to just lay down in my bed, close my eyes and just listen to this album. seems like a perfect album to do this for. that being said, im not really feeling drone at all. maybe thatll change. late night at the jetty is my favorite by good margin too. benefica and you can count on me are great too though. solid album throughout

I'm at Last Night at the Jetty. That and Surfers Hymn got transferred quite nicely into studio. Just went into Drone, I remember my friend puked his brains out when he heard this live a year ago or so. It was pretty intense. Can't wait to hear my hometown's football team track.

I like the album quite a bit, but the single mix of the title track is far superior to the album version.

Yeah, I've been refraining from listening to the singles that came out last year but now I'm quite curious to how they sound compared to the album. I need to go hunt for them once the 320 rip surfaces.

Some of them I couldn't tell any difference. The most obviously different were Tomboy and Slow Motion. Tomboy got way more cluttered on the album mix, I thought, and I didn't like it. The album version also had a few more details for Slow Motion, but I'm not sure if they detract or not (my initial thought was that they did, but I think I may come around to them, whereas I doubt I will for Tomboy).

Scheherezade was the nicest surprise for me on first listen. Nearly all of the previously released songs sounded much improved, with the unexpected exception being Surfer's Hymn. All in all I don't love it yet but expect it to grow on me with further listens, as other AC/AC-related albums have done in the past. A plus is that it already feels somehow more consistent than their other work. It doesn't seem to have a stretch of songs which noticeably lags.

A better quality rip wouldn't hurt though.

What quality is the rip in? I'm actually thinking of waiting til the actual album release to buy this one, because I already know pretty much what it sounds like.

I think the only one floating around is 128 or something close to that. I'd wait if I were you.

Yeah, I'm defs getting the record store day vinyl edition. I'll probably refrain from listening to it til then. Besides, 420 is coming up and all.

Really? Almost all of the opinions I've read on that song have said that the album version is a major improvement, and I'd have to agree with that.
