It's amazing that The Way Young Lovers Do is simultaneously the catchiest song on Astral Weeks and the most bizarre and cacophonous. Really love it. It used to be one of my least favorites, and I'd still probably take a majority of the album over it (which isn't saying much because every song is a solid 10/10 for me), but it's grown since my first listen and I love its place on the album smack dab between two long, slow-burning, quieter numbers.

Some days, it's my favorite on the album. I think your comments are spot on.

Was wondering if anyone had heard this alternate version of Madame George:

Actually just listened to this for the first time a few days ago. Interesting take on the song but doesn't really contain any of what makes the Astral Weeks version one of my favorite pieces of music of all time.

Oh, of course not. Astral Weeks is in a class of its own. But I still really like this version(Though the original is in my top ten favorite songs)

I actually played Madame George on my show today and it was the last song in the show. I always felt that Madame George should've been the last song on Weeks. Would've been an awesome closer.

I don't know. I think Slim Slow Slider is the perfect closer for that album. It's so minimalist where most of the other songs are maximalist, and I think it offers a sort of final point of emotional reference. In that song, things are finally over and never going to start again, whereas in most of the other songs, relationships are beginning or in the middle. That said, I love Madame George and if I had to pick a favorite piece of music, that would probably be it. It could be anywhere on the album and I would love it.

Downloaded Veedon Fleece and Into the Music. Still stalling Astral for some reason :eh:

I might take some time to warm up to Veedon, since im such a big fan of Moondance and there seems to be a split crowd when these 2 albums are concerned.

I hate not having Veedon Fleece, but I can't figure out where to download it. And Yousha, Astral Weeks is an album everyone needs to hear. Get it.

I'm planning to do the same with Kind of Blue, since I didn't get it the first time. I've never used those filesharing websites before; are they safe to use?

has worked for about 30 gigabytes of music for me so far, have a good antivirus on your pc man , all they might contain are a few idiotic bugs, and if you feel scared, you always have torrents, which people often see as the lesser of the 2 evil for some reason

I probably just don't know what to do, but I can't seem to get Veedon Fleece onto my iTunes. It saved as an rar file, which I've never seen before and is different from all the music I've gotten legitimately. Help, Yousha?

DL winrar

just google it and a trial version will come up

after like 2 weeks it expires but by "expires" it simply asks you nicely to buy the software and if you say no, it will not insist upon itself (it will just keep asking every time you open it, and every time it's as easy as saying no)
