With a track like Duel of the Iron Mic, I can see why. I guess when I'm walking home and cranking up 'Knock Knock' or 'Animal Planet' or 'Legend of the Liquid Sword' I feel as bangin' as a Bangladesh tiger on fire burning up joints, didn't mean to disappoint

Animal Planet is probably GZA's finest lyrical performance.

This is so beautiful.

I feel like this song belongs in a trailer for a movie in which a lone, solitary hero must save all humanity from an age old evil using a power he alone can wield. He makes many sacrifices during his journey, very taxing sacrifices, that bear down upon him throughout. The strength of his will is tested and even he is not certain he can carry on. But he continues and never shirks his duties as guardian of this realm. He fulfills his destiny and vanquishes the demon, ensuring continuing peace and prosperity for all those he loves.

Good song.

whosampled.com is the best source for sample identification imo

Absolutely. Wiki should do the trick for such a renowned album as Endtroducing though.

I think the general consensus is probably MM..FOOD, but my personal second favourite is Operation Doomsday.

The albums he did with KMD were amazing, but he's almost a different rapper back then.

"Born Like This" is a severely underrated DOOM release (even by me, at one point), and is worth checking out.

Asides from Madvillainy? Definitely get MM.. FOOD next. Operation: Doomsday and Vaudeville Villain [by Viktor Vaughn, his other pseudonym] are both great as well

KMD is the rap group DOOM was in with his twin (?) brother Subroc, before his death in 93. They released two albums, both high quality (although Black Bastards is the better one) - but DOOM is a noticeably different MC, but still great.

Incidentally, here's the first appearance of DOOM rapping. This is what he looked like without a mask in 1989.

God, been obsessed with Big L and Big Pun lately.

Twinz is such a great song.
Dead in the middle of Little Italy, little did we know that we riddled two middlemen who didn't do diddly

Goddamn it's hard to get Madlib albums. I've only been able to find Shades of Blue and Beat Konducta in India. Can anyone help a brother out?
