On the matter of releasing so much great material within a year, I would say the work RZA/Wu Tang put out in 95 is comparable for sure.

The. Best. CCR song.

Also, I'm a little late on this, but about the 'multiple albums in a short period of time' thing, Zeppelin had released three stellar albums in just barely over a year.

No, they didn't.

Led Zeppelin - January, 1969
Led Zeppelin II - October, 1969
Led Zeppelin III - October, 1970
Untitled - November, 1971

I was just about to come in and make a post saying how overlooked Ramble Tamble is, it's probably my favorite CCR song after their cover of I Heard It Through the Grapevine.

Yeah, Cosmo's Factory is about as good an album as has ever been made.

Saw John Fogerty at the Beacon Theatre in NYC on the 14th. Boy, can that guy write a song. Pretty good at singin' 'em and playin' em, too. He played everything I wanted to hear. Bloody everything. Two-and-a-half hour non-stop concert. There was a moment during "Up Around the Bend" when he looked like the very embodiment of Rock 'n' Roll.
