Anyway - how the hell is Adele even a problem artist for you? I understand when people don't get why rap is rock, that concept may seem alien to them. But Adele? What is the issue there?

The only times I've saw the words "Hip Hop" and "Rock" together are if the genre "Rapcore" is being talked about (stuff like Run DMC and the Beastie Boys). I just cannot fathom "rock" with today's stuff. I have never heard anyone claim that "hip-hop" is rock until that article.

Why don't you offer an actual counter-argument to it, instead of stamping your feet on the ground? As far as no one else thinking rap is part of rock, is the Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame good enough for you?

Sampson has lots of good points in his article, I'm kinda convinced. I mean, rap has started to blend into rock so much that it is hard to tell apart what is what. Songs like "Feel Good Inc." are like blend of dark trippy rock music with groovy bass and rap.

Read my post again and again until YOU get it. The article discusses hoW people generally disregard music for racial or preferential reasons. I'm not doing that. White artists that took the rock framework still called their music rock. Adele does not, and has never referred to herself as a rock singer.

The logic that everyone falls under the same blanket that was influenced by the same thing is ridiculous. It's as foolish as calling every book science fiction because EVERYTHING in existence can be traced back to science

So what if Adele doesn't call herself rock? By the logic of the article, she's rock, that's all that matters.

The broad definition of rock is far more preferable for lists like these than some arbitrary cut off. You're welcome to use rock to describe guitar based stuff in conversation of whatever, but for the purpose of a list which wants to be informative and interesting, we should totally have this inclusive view of rock music. It doesn't include everything, you're just being silly.

How can you be so unbelievably closeminded? At what point did I suggest that guitar driven rock was the only rock music? The point that no-one refered to Adele as rock wasn't my only one either. So how about you take a leaf out of your own book and re read my post until YOU get it.
