This is a very hard thing for me to figure out but I'll give it a shot...

James Dean Bradfield
Freddie Mercury
Lisa Gerrard
Rhydian
David Bowie
Hugh Jackman
Elton John
Sinead O'Connor
Jeff Buckley
Chris Cornell
Layne Staley
Eddie Vedder
Kelly Jones

actually I can't hardly remember who i like. I need to get back into some serious music listening mode.

I suppose yes...they should also be on there. Well Bellamy is always a given.

Phew, I actually thought you'd have distanced yourself from Muse completely, and I was a little disappointed.

Darkshines without Muse is like Nick without Soul.....

Bellamy's singing reminds me a bit of Thom Yorke though....

*bangs head off wall*. After 10 and a half years of Muse-fandom you'd think I'd be used to the Thom Yorke comments by now. Yes, they are alike but at the same time different.

I also like Rufus Wainwright who falls into the Yorkian category of singers.

Hey in my defence - I never knew you faced that from the others....I was basically a stalker when you were in your posting days - and when i started posting - you were gone.....

they are indeed quite different in places - their phrasing and delivery due to song structure and musical direction is radically different indeed....

no idea who Rufus is...

Hey don't even think about it...anyway I like both Muse and Radiohead in different ways.

Here's some Rufus:

He also has one of the better known versions of Hallelujah after Jeff and Leonards...known especially for his changing of the lyric "holy dove" into "holy duck". random.

Andy Williams has always been a favorite. He is usually considered a crooner, and while I suppose he technically can be referred to as one, his power and volume is greater than those of most crooners; he's more operatic. Here he is in Speak Softly, Love: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGUJaxtTROM.

Theme from 'Love Story' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxEazBfPVFg) is an awesome vocal performance. He starts so lightly, with great control, then explodes with power.
