I was on a Billy Joel-mood today, so I recorded two covers:

(Billy Joel - Why Should I Worry) - http://picosong.com/pWe/ - This song is so much fun to sing (like many of Joel's songs), I think I got it done really well. Warming up my voice surely helped too, those pesky low falsetto bits were so much easier after warming up properly.

(Billy Joel - Honesty) - http://picosong.com/pWn/ - This was recorded in one take, sadly I didn't have enough time to sing the ending (my favourite part).

Hey, Haven't posted any recordings in a long time but here are two quick MJK songs.

First is Horizons from Puscifer - http://www.sendspace.com/file/9hjl6a

Second is Noose by APC - http://www.sendspace.com/file/5rjjvw

Looking forward to some more MJK vocals this year!

My Tom Waits-influenced original I did in 30 minutes, thanks to a massive gush of inspiration and will to imitate his vocal style for once... If you dislike Tom Waits or murder songs, skip it.

And yes, Mortimer Viiksi is just a jokingly made pseudonym.

I thought those were great! Good dynamic song choices. I particularly liked the video one.

"Leviathan" is SO hard to sing, the idea of covering it is pretty crazy.

You had a pretty impressive control up there, with your pronunciation and pitch being pretty good. You even managed to hit the final Eb well, props for that. You got a very weird tone (scratchy and thin) during some parts though, I think you should work more in that field.

I actually think that tone works Timi, it somehow goes. slopternate's always been good, i remember him posting a queensryche clip, and it was quite the attempt.

WHY CANT I SING IN PITCH !!!

Thanks. imo other than requiring the stamina and sufficient amount of darkness in timbre (I'm a lower baritone than Bonnet so I don't need to push as much), the melody line is quite slow and not that difficult.

Halford, Gillan, Coverdale and Hartmann have the same problem, but I think this near-the-passagio screech is passable within the rock genre.

Thanks, playing an instrument helps greatly in training your ears.

Back from the dead! :surprised:

How's going you guys? It's been a while since i've posted anything here but i watched from a distance (because of lack of time due to work and everything) but i saw major improvements on everyone. It's great to see that.

Here's something i've just recorded with a better mic (but still without a pre-amp).

I hope you guys like it. I really want to get back posting stuff here if my time allows me to
