Absolutely brilliant performance of Vedder in this album. In "Black", he seems to sing from the deepest place of his soul.
I have no doubt that, at that time, he was one of the greatest singers in the world.

Eh, Vedder was alright.
I actually prefer Cobain as a vocalist. By a lot.

If this is just opinion of your personal taste, fine. But no chance that Cobain is greater than Vedder.

Of course, it's just preference.
Vedder sounds kinda lifeless to me most of the time...

No way on this planet is it greater OR better than Quadrophenia. Not even close, imo.

Why? Just because of Love Reign O'er Me? It is probably his best showcase of skill but Tommy is the album that changed Roger Daltrey's personality as a singer. Tommy is where he allowed himself to show more parts of his voice. Its truly more influential.

It's not just because of LROM, there's also "I've Had Enough", "Sea And Sand" (possibly his 2nd best performance with The Who), "The Real Me", and hell....most of the album is vocally outstanding. Yes Tommy is where he showed a new dimension to his voice, but Quad is where he took that dimension to it's absolute highest point.

I agree with this, therefore Tommy and Quad should not be that far apart from each other. Having "Tommy" not on the list at all is absurd is it can be.

I was thinking if I should redo this one or maybe create a live bass albums list, or maybe I could finish the other thousand lists that I started? :lol:

I think this current list is great as it is, it just needs to be finished. As the main editor, I put a lot of thought into it, and considered everyone's opinions.

Man I miss the days when the vocalists forum was insanely active...
