1. THEESatisfaction - awE naturalE

Still waiting for a second album I really care for. The Killer Mike was promising on first listen, though some tracks were political in really bland and cliche ways.

Sure. But it was bland.

I'm listening again. The production is amazing—tangent: can't wait to hear El-P's new album—and the rapping is mostly good. But parts of the political bent substantially detract.

1. Ethel - Heavy ****
2. THEESatisfaction - awE naturalE ****
3. Wadada Leo Smith - Ten Freedom Summers ***1/2 (probably)
4. Killer Mike - R.A.P. Music ***1/2 (maybe)

Joe, I think you'd like the Ethel album. Lovely violent string quartet music, now with 30% more Marvin Gaye.

Location: here. hi.
Right now, my top five looks something like
1. Beach House - Bloom
2. Alabama Shakes - Boys & Girls
3. Silversun Pickups - Neck of the Woods
4. Jenny Owen Youngs - An Unwavering Band of Light
5. Poliça - Give You the Ghost

That's definitely gonna be different by the end of the year.

I have no idea what you mean by this but I'm intrigued nonetheless. I'm going to have to ask you for a link to it because I can't seem to find it.

The first four tracks are a string quartet titled "Four Thoughts on Marvin Gaye".
