Looking at the 2012 in American music Wikipedia page, I see there's a band called Chairlift. Reminds me of my friends' joke idea for a band called Spreadsheet, which tries to play the most boring music possible. Seriously, what kind of name is Chairlift?

Chairlift are a pretty decent band, from the little music I've heard from them

Colin Stetson in an interview said something that implicitly suggested New History Warfare Volume 3 was close to done. It's not official, but if it comes out next year, there you have the most exciting release of the year.

Big Boi for sure, he said in an interview in autumn 2011 that he could put out the album that day but the label was tying things up. I think The-Dream said something similar.

Also, "James River" by D'angelo will finally come out, according to ?uestlove.
