Yes I know he's not as big as Mozart or Bach (I didn't put capitals in the title) but fuck it he's one of my favourite composers, and I find his music is often quickly judged as showy and virtuosic, sometimes just blatantly romantic, occasionally interesting harmonically, and not much more. It's true, he is all of these things, but that doesn't mean his music should be reduced to that!

Heard his Benediction de Dieu dans la solitude performed live this past weekend and was really blown away But I've heard that's not very representative of most of his works.
