Have a collection of Cage's works for prepared piano. Wasn't really expecting much from it, but I listened to And the Earth Shall Bear Again and it was quite good. So now I have high expectations for the rest.

Posting four times in a row like I gives a fuck.

Listening to some Kalevi Aho symphonies. Studied under Rautavaara (hi Drew). His work is bigger. He likes drums. I think I like him more? Haven't fully digested it yet.

Lamentate appears to be one of the less interesting Arvo Part works.

Heard closely:

Tabula Rasa (love love love)
Alina (like to love)
Lamentate (eh)

Still to hear closely/at all:

Arbos
Beatus
Da Pacem
De Profundis
Fratres
Litany
Miserere
Summa
Te Deum

So saw Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake performed in St. Petersburg. First ballet I've seen live (with the dancing paired with the music) and I must say I was quite impressed with the experience. Of course it has great music and themes but with the dance it adds another dimension that I quite enjoyed.

I saw it here in Berlin once with some teenaged ballet class sitting right behind me, who talked, well, not continuously but still quite frequently throughout the whole thing. They were mainly concerned with the beautiful costumes. It was one of the few experiences in my life during which I felt the strong urge to knock someone unconscious.

Picked up a collection of all 7 Sibelius symphonies at the library. Really solid shit, the orchestration is really attention-grabbing

i don't know much about the subject at hand, but i've heard there are a number of laxatives that solve the issue quite easily.
