Michel Chion's Requiem has been kicking my ass lately.

Just finished Charles Ives's Three Places in New England and Symphony No. 3. Easily one of my favorite composers.

I'm discovering the Finnish composer Einojuhani Rautavaara. Not yet particularly familiar with his work but I'm pleased with the little I've heard (not yet closely enough). Soundtracking some yardwork I've been doing.

What have you listened to/enjoyed? Wikipedia tells me he is a prolific composer with a lot of stylistic variety, so I'd have no idea where to start.

I've listened to Symphony No. 8 and his Concerto for Harp and Orchestra (but neither closely enough). I have but have not listened Autumn Gardens and Piano Concerto No. 3. I got both because they were on CDs classicstoday gave 10/10.

Will upload later today. Also, I listened to the Piano Concerto No. 3 while doing some yardwork and loved it.

Also, Charles Wuorinen's Third Piano Concerto. One of the few pieces in its style that I've heard that actually has real drama. I will upload that as well.

Oh, and I've also been listening to a fair bit of Q-bert.
