naturally... loussier is a legend! i think he was a great pioneer in doing this sort of thing... but i think there have been guys since him who have done it even better.

hadnt heard it but christ, thats impressive. hes transcribed the entire score and used multiple guitars, such an onerous approach

Another new discovery, Scott Ross' Goldberg Variations:

I had only really listened to Gould's recordings, finding most harpsichord versions off-putting due to the sound of the lone harpsichord klanking away, but this one's different somehow. Maybe it's the combination of Ross' playing and the instrument, but the results sound good to my ears.

I've been listening to this CD on spotify and it's great. Gould just plays Bach differently than anyone I've ever heard. If you don't mind a little faint humming in the background then you'll love this. He's so intelligent in his interpretation, it's humbling
