George - the last two videos you've posted have been unbelievable. Jarrett has been a huge inspiration to my playing, he has such a gift. I am still trying to figure out how to upload files of my playing on to DDD, I haven't forgotten our conversation!

whoa, cool, rick!
hamasyan is an up-and-comer, i think... interestingly, it was eldar djangirov who was hailed as the next tatum/peterson a few years ago... yet it seems like the hype has dwindled somewhat...

All credit to you, I'd never heard of him.

That's for Tatum. There's a lot more of Peterson on youtube, make sure to check him out too!

Hmmm.... Yeah, I guess you are probably right. I'm just a big big fan of Corea. A couple years ago I discovered Hiromi on youtube and was blown away. She sounds almost just like Corea. Hopefully she will earn a spot on this list.
Oh, never mind she already has. 99 out of 100 ain't that bad, I guess.

their styles are too different to compare really but i i prefer phineas mastery of layering harmonically brilliant compact voicings and octaves throughout blistering solos to jarretts meandering and repetitive build up of vamps. bach has destroyed my attention span

<3 so beautiful... this is chopin's "prelude in e min" re-written for the 20th century, treated through a brazilian/jazz/impressionistic lens...

have you heard bill's album with luiz eca?

also, since you enjoyed that segue in serge delaite's piece...
