I'm not all that familiar with him, and I've never seen him mentioned in power-pop circles. What led you to mention him?

Great list. Cheap Trick at #1 is dead-on.

I could maybe see the Romantics move up a bit, though. "Talking in Your Sleep," "One in a Million," and the classic "What I Like About You" were all big power pop hits.

Why did NRBQ fell about a sixty spots? Admittedly I don't know much about them but it's a significant change.

Because they're not really power pop? I never got why they were so high.

I massively overestimated their power pop-ness. As it stands, they were really only "power pop" for one album: At Yankee Stadium, which just so happens to be their most acclaimed and popular release.

All the comments i've gotten since this list went up were basically, "good list, but NRBQ doesn't belong in the Top 50". I agreed.

And if Alex Chilton makes this list, why not Chris Bell? I Am the Cosmos is pretty widely acclaimed release.

Repeating a point I made on the old board: While I think the content of the sidebar list is excellent, I think it has the wrong title. "Honorable Mentions" makes it sound as though they aren't quite worthy of a place on the main list, when arguable several of them are more important to power pop than anyone on the main list. I think "The Pioneers" or "The Influences' would be a much better heading.

I sent the new revision to Lew and asked for the sidebar name to be changed to "Power Pop Influences"
