Why shouldnt it be? It's their greatest album, and a top 15 metal album of all time....

What do you think of She Wolf?

It's good but it's not top 10.

1. Holy Wars...The Punishment Due (Rust in Peace)
2. Peace Sells (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?)
3. Symphony of Destruction (Countdown to Extinction)
4. Hangar 18 (Rust in Peace)
5. Tornado of Souls (Rust in Peace)
6. In My Darkest Hour (So Far, So Good... So What?)
7. Looking Down The Cross (Killing is My Business...and Business is Good!)
8. A Tout Le Monde (Youthanasia)
9. Good Mourning... Black Friday (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?)
10. Rust In Peace...Polaris (Rust In Peace)

Yes?

God, I hate A Tout le Monde, but I get it... it's a famous one.

I rather like it (and it's better than any pure ballads Metallica ever came up with), and no one has really objected to it.

So "A Tout Le Monde" gets a spot because some of you think it's better than any of Metallica's pure ballads, "Sweating Bullets" is excluded because it's a popular song that some of us like, some of us don't, and "Rust in Peace... Polaris" gets a spot because Negative Creep says it's Mustaine's most intricate riffing by far. I'm uncertain as to why you think that, NC, seeing as it doesn't contain any time changes (as far as I remember. Correct me if I'm wrong), none of the riffs are particularly technically demanding and there's no modal changes or anything of the likes, that I know of. Only thing it has is a lot of tempo changes and kickass riffing, which is mighty fine, but does not intricate riffing make. "Poison Was the Cure", from the same album, is at the very least a more technically demanding song to play, and I'll bet my ballsack they have a handful of songs that are more intricate, especially from their newer albums, though I haven't listened a whole lot to them.

LOL, We dont have to put Polaris there just because I mentioned it.
Nothing's official yet.

By "intricate riffing", I was mainly referring to the second half of the song. I mean the main fast riff he's playing is pretty complex and sounds like it'd be a bitch to play.

But it's still up in the air.
However, there's no way that Looking Down The Cross shouldnt be there.

Hang on... why is not Wake Up Dead on that list? It should be like seventh.

What's the criteria, anyway?

Not sure, looks like just critical acclaim/fan favorites.

Wake Up Dead is not top 10 IMO.

It's an excellent song, a great opener and a fun live staple. I'd put it in top 20, maybe even top 15, but not top 10.

Then again...

1. Holy Wars...The Punishment Due (Rust in Peace)
2. Peace Sells (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?)
3. Symphony of Destruction (Countdown to Extinction)
4. Hangar 18 (Rust in Peace)
5. Tornado of Souls (Rust in Peace)
6. In My Darkest Hour (So Far, So Good... So What?)
7. Looking Down The Cross (Killing is My Business...and Business is Good!)
8. A Tout Le Monde (Youthanasia)
9. Good Mourning... Black Friday (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?)
10. Wake Up Dead (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?)

I'd be ok with this.

Sorry if I seemed harsh, NC, but I thought things went a bit overboard with the subjectivity. I think the list is decent enough, but I don't think "A Tout Le Monde" should be on it. If the point is to represent the album, put on "Elysian Fields" instead. If not, "Poison Was the Cure" would fill out the list mighty fine in my shiny biased eyes. Also, you said "Wake Up Dead" isn't top ten worthy and then put it at #10, JRA?

Cos I figured someone would get butthurt and whine about it, so I put it there to pre-emptively compromise. I'd rather have Rust of the 5 other songs I picked at #10, but if having it on the list means we keep Looking Down The Cross that's fine. Elysian Fields bores me to be honest. It's not so much to represent Youthanasia as it is to say Tout Le Monde is a great song. But if kicking Tout Le Monde off also means we can have one of my other suggestions on, I'm ok with that too. Hell, I'm even ok with Wake Up Dead replacing it.

There's absolutely no reason to have Elysian Fields on there. A Tout le Monde has a case, that one doesn't. I do think Tout le Monde should be on there btw in lieu of better suggestions.

JRA, pretty solid list.
You think Set The World Afire could sneak in there?
