Celtic Frost are a bizarre combination of black metal and thrash metal.

Just because they write "evil" lyrics doesn't really make them black metal.

Evil lyrics doesn't even necessarily make a band metal.

Probably because most of their influence stems from one album, but that's still A LOT of influence.

And if they aren't thrash, why are they on the list of Greatest Thrash Metal Artists?

Btw, thanks for all the recommendations guys. I'll be sure to explore thrash metal further this way.

Melissa (Mercyful Fate) - 4.5/5

WOW. I truly take back whatever bad things I may have said about these guys 'cause this is just phenomenal. "Evil" is one of the most perfect metal songs one can ask for.

Granted it's no Peace Sells or Rust In Peace, but I've always thought that album was severely underrated.
Okay, so Anarchy In The U.K. sucks ass, and Mary Jane is average despite a killer riff at the end, but the rest of it is great, imo.

HOOK IN MOUTH!

Hook in Mouth might be the worst song Megadeth has ever created.

I think he's discounting them cause they're cheap covers.
