It definitely has it's moments, and I think 'Caress Into Oblivion' is fucking epic, but the rest of it ranges from decent to really cheesy.
'Sorrows Of The Moon' is just unnecessary, and I really dont understand why you put 'Rex Irae' on the top 10 for Frost. Imo that song is hideous...

Overall it's a good album but not in the same galaxy as the face-melting brilliance of Morbid Tales and To Mega Therion.

Morbid Tales (EP): 9.0/10
To Mega Therion: 8.5/10
Into the Pandemonium: 7.0/10
Monotheist: 9.5/10

I guess I need to get around to hearing Cold Lake, Emperor's Return, and Vanity/Nemesis.

Just out of curiosity, why do you rate Morbid Tales higher than To Mega Therion? That's one of the few albums that I'd probably wouldn't hesitate to give 5 stars.

I'm gonna have to listen to Monotheist is it's that good...

Yea, Monotheist is...different. Heavy as fuck, but different. Polarizing too. I've heard quite a few people say it's horrible. Me? I thought it was cool, but the Triptykon album is an improved version of Monotheist.

I didn't put Rex Irae at #3, that was Nesquik's doing. I used to love it, and think it's still kind of cool, but 3 is a little high.

Wait... You actually own the original EP and not the re-released version of Morbid Tales with the two EPs combined?

Frost is just impossible not to love. Even Nirvana were influenced by them...

Candlemass - Epicus Doomicus Metallicus. 10/10.

I'd heard this before a long time ago, but HOLY SHIT I totally forgot how devastatingly brilliant it is. Vocals are like a cross between Geoff Tate and King Diamond, and the riffs....oh fuck, the riffs! Iommi himself would be proud, imo.

Helloween - Walls Of Jericho. 9.5/10.

So much heavier and dirtier than the Keeper albums, this shit is infectious. Kai cant sing like Kiske but he does have a great way with high notes in his own way. This version of Ride The Sky >>> Kiske version.
This is gonna be my next metal purchase. Without question.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's on Live In The U.K.

Unless I'm thinking of How Many Tears?

At any rate, I know they did IN FACT redo How Many Tears and Victim Of Fate with Kiske, but I think I far prefer the WoJ versions...
