Here we go with another 'everything is better than Puppets' debate

Calm down. I'm vouching for Number of the Beast to be #1. I do legitimately think it's the greatest metal album of all time. The highest ranking Metallica album could Ride The Lightning and I would still say Number of the Beast should be #1.

Another thing, Number of the Beast was actually #1 for two weeks, whereas Paranoid only topped the charts for that week.

By the way joe, I found the source which you said stated that Number of the Beast has sold 14 million copies worldwide.

Paranoid is way too important to ever drop from #1. Especially now that we have originality factored in (which I'm in favor of).

I see no reason for the holy trinity of Paranoid/Puppets/Beast to ever change. I might argue Beast > Puppets, but the difference is really minute.

Also, where do you guys think Sabbath's debut would place by this new criteria? Obviously it wouldn't do that well in chart status, but it would absolutely SLAY in both definitions of impact, as well as influence.
Acclaim would be pretty substantial as well.

Huh, I didn't notice originality.

Well, if we are going to talk about that, then my Ride The Lightning > Puppets argument becomes relevant.

We're doing it differently this time. We're not doing straight up debates, I want to try something a little more off-the-wall that might prove to be more objective. We're going to do four separate lists, one for each criteria then average them together. I'm currently working on the acclaim/reception list if someone wants to do some research on the charts list.

A top 100 list for each criteria? Holy shit that sounds horrifying.
