I don't know a lot about this stuff, but shouldn't DEP be at number one, Converge at number two and Botch at number 3. Also, Hatebreed probably should be higher. Also, bands like Zao, Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, Bullet For My Valentine. Those are melodic metalcore, right. Should they be on the list?

Not sure about Zao, but Atreyu, A7x and BFMV should definitely be on the other list. Protest the Zero, Every Time I Die, From Autumn to Ashes, Hate the Day, The Devil Wears Prada and 36 Crazyfists as well (if they belong on any metal list at all). Like I mentioned on the older forum, there wasn't much thought put into this. It's just pretty much metalcore bands not included on MA.

UnderOath, Hopesfall and Poison the Well shouldn't be on either list.

This is the list for Mathcore, Deathcore and Metal influenced Hardcore. The other one is Hardcore influenced Metal (that's the easiest way to look at it. So A7x, Bullet for my Valentine etc are on the right list. Or I suppose if you'd like I could do away with this list, throw A7X, BFMV, Zao and Atreyu on the other list, along with all the bands BRC mentioned. Also throw the Deathcore and Mathcore on the other list, and fuck all the rest of the bands that probably aren't Metal (like HORSE the Band).

So I guess start from the top, and pick apart the ones that should remain on the Metal list, and we can merge them into the other one, and rename the other one after this lists' title.

Converge are the Black Sabbath of metalcore. They are easily #1. The Dillinger Escape Plan is easily #2. Botch is more popular than Earth Crisis, and both have similar influence/impact, so Botch should be #3 and Earth Crisis #4.

There is an obvious distinction between metalcore and melodic metalcore. One is metal influenced hardcore, and the other is hardcore influenced metal. When I originally made this list I based the selections for each list off of metal-archives, because I'm lazy.

Underoath certainly belongs on the "metalcore" list. I, having heard the majority of their albums, feel as if they should here. Basing an opinion of a band off a few singles is kind of ignorant, after all if one had only heard Metallica's "Mama Said" one would think they were a country rock band. HORSE the Band are also a metalcore band, just with more electronic influences present. In fact, all these bands are considered metalcore.

Coming from me, who listens to more metalcore and melodic metalcore than anyone on this site, don't remove any bands from the list. It does need rearranged, but yeah. Also, remove "Deathcore" from the thread title, unless you also want to include "Mathcore" in it.

Well alright... and just for the record, I have three Underoath albums

I sure as hell don't listen to any of them anymore though.

Also, there are a few Deathcore bands that are on the Melocore list (I think Despised Icon is one). Shouldn't they be moved here?

Fixed. And I'll move those Deathcore bands over here soon as well. But I'm not sure which ones are the ones that belong on this list. So if anyone can help with that, it would be much appreciated.

Take out "Daughters" and "War From A Harlots Mouth"

Put As Blood Runs Black right in front of Genghis Tron

Put Despised Icon right behind Job for a Cowboy

Then bump Job for a Cowboy up right in front of Protest the Hero.

Done

Move Coalesce up to #9
Move Botch up to #3
