Pantera and Lamb of God aren't groove metal. Pantera was the next generation of power/thrash metal and Lamb of God is death/grindcore/thrash...type of metal. Groove metal is something you can dance/groove to like White Zombie. How does Pantera and Lamb of God fit in with that?

Not that I'm right....I'm just wondering.

Groove metal is not something you can dance/groove to. Pantera is pretty much the definition of groove metal.

"Walk" is basically what groove metal is all about. Certainly some songs, like "Strength Beyond Strength", "Rise" and "Fucking Hostile" aren't very groove metal oriented, but the majority of their discography, post Power Metal, fits neatly within the genre.

I've never heard the "groove metal is something you can dance/groove to" thing before. I want to know where anyone would have gotten that idea from.

Damn you Austin Powers! :durr:

I thought Pantera was more of a thrash metal band and Lamb of God a more metalcore type band. I didn't mean groove as in dancing around like a fag....just more of a White Zombie'ish....

......fuck it. I'm done...moving on.

Since we're on the topic, I just want to say that Grip Inc. is surprisingly good.

Maybe part of the confusion is that there are clearly non-groove metal bands on here, like Living Color, Fishbone and Infectious Grooves (which people generally describe as "funk metal")

Well, its not like there are actually 50 worthy Groove bands out there.
Anyway, shouldn't Sepultura be higher? Last time I checked Roots was pretty much the greatest Groove album Pantera never made.

Honestly, this list really shouldn't go past 20. Everything after that only seems like filler.

Seriously, get rid of the funk metal bands, move DevilDriver, Biomechanical, and Grip Inc. into the top 20, and get rid of everything else. Then, you'll have the perfect groove metal list.
