I agree with them being here, they sound much more trad than doom to me. Their riffs aren't particularly down-tuned or slow enough to be considered true doom.

Pretty sure that's based on stuff like Countdown to Extinction and The Black Album. Or are you saying that they're in the wrong order or too low or what?

I'm saying they shouldn't be on the list at all.

Majority of their catalogue is still thrash.

Metallica have 6 thrash albums and 9 traditional metal albums (and 4 hard rock, 1 symphonic metal, and 1 alternative metal album as well). The only "pure thrash" album they really have is Kill 'Em All. RtL-AJFA is a combination of thrash and traditional with some progressive elements. '90s Metallica was all traditional metal and hard rock (as well as the symphonic s&m). St. Anger was alternative metal, and then on Death Magnetic they went back to their "golden age" sound with the combination of thrash and traditional.
