I would make comments on this list but I haven't heard enough of these albums to comment. Eventually I should hear all of them but damn my list of albums to listen to (including funk and hip hop albums) is so long! So much music out there, so little time.

Well put.
I'm not well-versed in death/black/groove metal, as I really dont care for them, so I just go by what others have to say.

No to the Cowboys From Hell as debut proposal.

Finally, a non-genre specific Pantera-less list!

I don't think there's any way Scream Bloody Gore could not be in the top 10.

Not in the least. This list will probably end up looking a lot like a rearranged "greatest artists" list anyway but that's a tad ridiculous.

Also, for future references:
Helloween - Walls of Jericho
Queensryche - (EP) or The Warning
Wintersun - Wintersun
Enslaved - Vikingligr Veldi
Crimson Glory - Crimson Glory
Celtic Frost - To Mega Therion
Candlemass - Epicus Doomicus Metallicus
Dissection - The Somberlain
In The Woods... - Heart of the Ages
Moonspell - Wolfheart
Atheist - Piece Of Time

The Helloween, Queensryche, Dissection and Celtic Frost in particular should be high up, 10-20 for

*For the Helloween and Queensryche in particular.
I was in a bit of a hurry.

the fuck happened to Maiden's debut? Replace Welcome To Hell with it. Welcome To Hell shouldn't be top 10 IMO. Replace The Legacy with Scream Bloody Gore and I think that's good.

Come on... The Legacy? Even KIMB is more deserving than that, as well as a bunch of other thrash albums.

How long is this list going to be?

Burn My Eyes by Machine Head should be added.

Here are some reviews just for the hell of it....

Quote:
Q magazine (11/94, p.115) - 4 Stars - Excellent - "...a violent, grinding experience, spiked with social comment and spruced up with some brain- tingling guitar..."
Kerrang! (p.21) - "Burn My Eyes took the heaviness and speed of thrash and combined it with the sledgehammer grooves of more left-field acts."
Kerrang! (p.53) - "[O]ne of the most ferocious and groove-laden behemoths the metal world has, and likely will ever see."

The album has since became a lasting success. In 1994, it quickly became a Roadrunner Records best seller and was the label's best-selling debut album for a number of years, until the release of Slipknot's 1999 self-titled debut.

If this list is going to be top 100....

- Deicide - Deicide
- Remission - Mastodon
- Epicus Doomicus Metallicus - Candlemass
- Bathory - Bathory

Horrified by Repulsion was their only full length album, if this is list going to be top 100 then maybe throw it on there somewhere. Oh and the debut album from Possessed.

The list will probably go to 100, like most others.

Any comments on this top 10?

It's good so far but include the ones I mentioned. If you have doubts then look them up on google for more proof.
