Eh, I'd like to think Slayer's early years had a bit of influence on hardcore, if for no other reason than the speed.

How the FUCK did we decide to leave Welcome To Hell out of the top 10?

Maybe it wasn't the most important, but it was surely the first real extreme metal album that kickstarted a generation.

Not the first wave of hardcore but thrash metal certainly had an influence on mid/late '80s hardcore, particularly Slayer's more "straight forward" brand of thrash rather than Metallica's ever expanding progressive tendencies.

Well that's what I meant by hardcore. Most of the classic hardcore bands had already put an album out by the time Slayer formed, let alone made an album.

Should To Mega Therion count as Frost's debut?

Except for Ozz and Dio being a little too high, I really like it.

One other thing - does Seven Churches really need to be that high?

No way in hell should Dio be above the first Maiden album.

Yeah I was thinking that too.
HD was huge, but Iron Maiden was kinda the benchmark album for the NWOBHM.

Iron Maiden was a turning point.
Holy Diver was merely a continuation.

I took that from the main albums list. I don't see a reason why it should be different.
