It's annoying, but he is influential enough as the singer for Sabbath.

Sure, I wouldn't do much good contributing but on a personal level Floor Jansen and Anneke van Giersbergen are my favourite female vocalists.

Anneke really is fantastic. I love her work with Ayreon and Devin Townsend.

Sherick, I really can't help you much here, I don't know much female vocalists...

However, I'd gladly help with expanding the tech list...

Huh Cornell's at number 1, interesting.
Tate will always be #1 in my books.

I'm going by the Rock tech list, which uses completely objective criteria so it wouldn't make sense to have a different set here, so I'm just c/p.
Cornell does look weird to me still, I think Tate at 1 is great no matter whose below him but...meh.

So that look like a good chick list to you? I just threw the last two on because their groups are really popular.

Judging from the 5 or 6 that I do know, it seems pretty solid.
Any thoughts on some earlier female metal vocalists like Lita Ford or any of the chicks from Girlschool? Again, I have no idea what their influence would be and not really sure of their popularity so I'm just spitballing.

It may also be worth noting 5 of those vocalists have done work on Ayreon- probably not surprising, as most Symphonic/Gothic (female-fronted) metal comes from the Netherlands where Arjen Lucassen lives, and that it's pretty much the only metal genre where (correct me if I'm wrong) female lead vocals are prevalent.

Hmm, Tarja is from Nightwish, Simons from Epica, Deva from Cradle of Filth (I really dislike her), who are the other chicks from?
