Didn't know Chicago is considered the west these days, but noted. Also, i don't agree with your point that Kanye "revived" rap

Okay, maybe he didn't "revive" rap, but he set a new standard for modern day rappers. Honestly, I think modern rap is still awful, but it was a lot worse in the early 2000's before Kanye than it is now.

Rap of this century is more a hit-or-miss period for me, and I think Kanye is OK.

You guys gotta include "Protect Ya Neck" by Wu Tang Clan. It's one of the definitive gangsta rap songs of the 90s.

Stan does beat "Regulate" by the criteria but "Regulate" being at #69 is pretty obsurd.

Why is Blondie - Rapture missing. I don't know why this shouldn't qualify as Rap/Hip-Hop.

Alright, I have something I need to find out. What song spent the most time in the top 100 of rap music?

Is somebody willing to take over this list? Criteria need to be changed.

Suggested criteria:

Influence
Acclaim
Popularity (both initial and lasting)

It's Stereo Williams' list. No one, willing or not, can take it over. Lew has made that quite clear.
