Maria did a good job on both her original list and the revision.

Wow, this place is a ghost town....

I would've thought Zep IV would be an inevitable top 5. Scores off the charts in every criterion.

I'd say it's off the charts in popularity only. Surely Exile and Innervisions beat it in musical impact, for example. But I'm not saying it couldn't be higher.

I'm not sure if I'd agree. IV is one of the most acclaimed rock albums of it's era, or any other.
It was the hugest album by (arguably) the hugest hard rock band of all time. Every song on the album, minus Battle Of Evermore, is still played on classic rock radio all the time (where I live anyway).

Not as acclaimed by musicians at the time as Exile or Innervisions, I'm pretty sure.

Your last 2 sentences are about popularity, which I already granted it.

Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All-Time poll, which was by far their most expansive poll ever of musicians and rock music industry types, ranked our top ten albums of the seventies thusly:

6. What's Going On
7. Exile on Main Street
8. London Calling
18. Born To Run
24. Innervisions
26. Rumours
28. Who's Next
43. The Dark Side of the Moon
57. Songs in the Key of Life
69. Led Zeppelin IV

.. as a note a trivia as it may relate to lasting popularity there are only 4 or 5 albums on this 70`s list there have ever appeared on the itunes Top 100 rock album charts for the 60 different countries that have such lists and one of those is Zep IV, by far the most popular 70`s album from the 70`s for itunes is Dark Side of the Moon ... and the only live album consistently in the Top 100 in many countries is Made in Japan .... and there are a couple of 70`s albums that aren`t on the list , that appear quite frequently on those Top 100 chart lists as well ..... Take care
