Queen's my favorite band, but above Floyd, the Stones, Gaye, Brown, and the Who? Wings above Lennon? Bee Gees and Eagles above Bowie? Popularity's just one of the criteria. Oh, and Stevie definitely should be #1.

That's a good question. I've wondered why MJ isn't on the list, and this might be the reason why. But if his music is being counted under the Jackson 5, then I think the entry should read "Jackson 5 / Michael Jackson".

If MJ count with J5, they can go up a little.

MJ in 70s:

Ben / Got To Be There / Off The Wall (one of his best)

Yes, Off the Wall was probably his 2nd greatest album, and the 2 songs you mentioned were top 10 hits, in addition to the hits from Off the Wall.

And his remake of "Rockin' Robin" was a top ten hit as well.

Yeah ... if count, J5/MJ can climb to the top 10?

I'd say possibly as high as 9 or 10, and definitely top 20. But my preference would be to give MJ a separate listing.

The Who are a more important/dominant act in the seventies than James Brown.

The Who should be #4, looking at his list. I don't think the top 3 is touchable.
