He was comparing DMB to one of their contemporaries, not confusing Primus with Phish.

Anyone ever hear of God Street Wine?

EDIT: Holy shit, they're on the list. One of the best concerts I've ever seen.

I saw them open for Blues Traveler at Saint Bonaventure University, so that would have been anywhere from 1993 to 1996. Dueling slide guitars. Fantastic drummer. Just a really sensational live band. They let you download their music for free on their website: http://www.godstreetwine.com/

EDIT: OMG I found the show!!!!

I can't believe I can hear that concert again!!!! It's been fifteen years!

Jam bands put on the best shows. Best part is getting a different show each night

At themusic.com I just bought like 30 shows on DVD from The Who's 2006 tour. They're only $7.50 apiece for a limited time! But I'll probably only be watching them for the "My Generation", "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere" and "Sparks" jams, since that's where the variety is. There's some good variation in "Won't Get Fooled Again" and "Naked Eye" night to night, too.

Clash, what God Street Wine show did you see? The link you posted lists several different shows.

Seeing Umphrey's tomorrow night and Saturday night, can't wait. I know the singer in a band called The Mantras, just found out the other day that their keyboard player is in Ali Baba's Tahini with Jake Cinninger of Umphrey's...pretty cool. Heres a recording I did of the Mantras a few months ago - http://www.archive.org/details/TM2010-11-27

Tomorrow, Saturday, March 26th, at 7 pm EST, Michigan State University student radio will air a show I recorded on the music of Phish.

It can be heard on 88.9 fm in the Lansing, MI area, or streaming at impact89fm.org.

Please tune in!

Summer Camp 2011 lineup looks awesome, really wish I could go to it but it's in Chicago. Will probably be going to Floydfest this summer with one of the bands playing - http://www.floydfest.com/

This wiki article isn't perfect, but it covers the basics fairly well:

The Allman Brothers should be #2 on this list.
