Boyz II Men had a great decade, at the peak of their popularity and musical impact, and imo, is in a very low place.

How Prince is ahead of MJ? I think he loses in all items of the criteria.

Radiohead off the top 10 is something I can not understand ...

Both Prince and MJ had most, perhaps almost all, of their influence prior to 1990, so not much difference between them there. I think Prince takes musical impact. MJ's '90s musical impact comes almost entirely from the Dangerous Album. Prince had a few albums with musical impact. When you add them all together, I think Prince comes out ahead. The '92 untitled album alone is close to Dangerous.

Maybe you're right about ''add them all together". Prince has released ten albums in the decade, Jackson has released two albums and plus one remix album (Blood On The Dance Floor).

I think the biggest difference between the two is in popularity, where Jackson wins with a good advantage.

that's the issue, i was thinking the same with oasis, thought radiohead and oasis should be top ten but slotting them in was hard, perhaps they could place Dr Dre and smashing pumpkins?

I think Oasis' current forum list placement is about right. They have little influence, and while they do well in popularity, other artists, including Smashing Pumpkins and probably Dr. Dre, do better. Dre also beats them in influence, and I don't see Oasis making up the Pumpkins popularity advantage in any other part of the criteria. Oasis could, perhaps, be ahead of Ice Cube, but TLC should probably be ahead of both of them.

I do, however, think Green Day should be ahead of Smashing Pumpkins, as I would give Green Day both popularity and influence.

I definitely agree with Green Day moving up.

Popularity in the nineties? That's not the way I remember it. I think the combined popularity of the Pumpkins' nineties albums outweighs the combined popularity of Green Day's nineties albums.

There's not a big difference, but Dookie is a more popular album than any Pumpkins album, and Green Day has 3 '90s multi-platinum albums to 2 for the Pumpkins. What makes it close in the US is that both Pumpkins albums were bigger than any Green Day album other than Dookie, and the Pumpkins had 3 additional platinum albums (5 in all) to 1 for Green Day (4 in all). But Green Day's albums were bigger in the UK.
