Looks like that site has a pretty good formula. Good find.

Yeah, that's pretty cool. Some surprising results there.

This is why my arguments are being continued for the 70s and rock artists list. Are those popularity criteria based on worldwide popularity or just US and UK? I think it should be worldwide if you really wanna get an "all-time" rock artists list.

Popularity on this website is primarily determined by the USA and UK singles and albums charts, weighted 5 to 1 USA versus UK. Ticket sales are also taken into account to properly assess the popularity of artists like The Grateful Dead.

This list seems bizarre, why is Eminem the only 00s artist on there? That can't be right, seems slanted.

John Lennon seems too high. As a solo artist, he just didn't have all that many hits or big albums.

I don't know. I was going to say that Lennon ahead of McCartney makes no sense at all, but then I noticed that Wings was on the list separately. I wonder where Paul McCartney/Wings would rank if they were combined.

I think Billy Joel is pretty big worldwide. Lennon ahead of him surprises me.

Never thought Bowie was as popular as that.

I went to the page and clicked on Neil Young, leading to a list of his songs. To the right of each song, it lists charts where each appears, and they include rateyourmusic charts. So does that mean they're including rateyourmusic ratings in their calculations? If so, no wonder the rankings seem wrong.

Do you ever talk about anything besides the 00s? That list shows the best charting artists of all-time worldwide. If anything Rihanna, Lil Wayne and maybe a couple of more are most likely below 100.
